We’ve rebranded! Introducing “The Tide Is Out”

…And Tide Pooling is In!

New Year, New Name. Announcing our rebranding to “The Tide Is Out,” a new and expanded blog, resource base, and community for learning and sharing stories about tide pooling and the intertidal.

But it’s not just the name that’s different. We’ve rebranded to become more than a blog (although we’ll keep the blog central, don’t worry) and include new ways to access information and a community exchange of information. We’ll discuss wider topics, include a broader range of locations and techniques, and, of course, share our excitement about the intertidal and the flora and fauna that calls it home.

We’ve chosen The Tide Is Out for our new name as an indication of the best time for tide pooling: low tide. But it just seems natural to also say, “And Tide Pooling is in!” This new platform will be designed to help grow our tide pooling community with new and experienced tidepoolers working together. This community will be one that respects the wildlife, the shore, and those who maintain it. So many people have grown to love this ecosystem, and protecting it through responsible and ethical tide pooling has never been more important. By making a space where tidepoolers can interact, learn, and contribute, we will create a previously novel community where we can agree on best practices and work together to explore the intertidal sustainably.

Around the site, you’ll notice some updates here and there, but more features and exciting new resources are in the works. This is the first of many changes lined up in the queue. So stay tuned for more updates soon!
